Marketfleet Inc. Lifestyle Photoshoot
Working at an e-commerce platform that manages 12 brands, you learn the art of wearing a lot of hats. I started my journey at MarketFleet Inc. as a part-time student, and part-time designer/photographer. My main focus in my first few months was strictly listing photos. What are listing photos? When online shopping, it is the image gallery you browse through when making purchasing decisions. We have your interest for a few seconds, and it is our job to show you everything we can about this product to influence your decision. Why is this relevant? Well, two of our top-selling brands, Driftsun and Elkton Outdoors, specialize in outdoor water sports products, and man is it hard to convince the average consumer to buy a kayak online, that they have never seen in person.
Our solution? The most massive yet budget-friendly lifestyle photoshoot our company has ever seen. One week, two locations, a handful of models, one jam-packed Uhual, and a modest 55 products later we pulled it off. Our design team (of 3 people) collectively planned and booked the Airbnb’s, secured the film permits, discovered the models, organized shipping logistics, drove to our warehouse, and loaded up a Uhual.
Behind the Scenes
Fatigued, in the heat, loading and unloading kayaks, directing and coordinating talent, I grew immensely as a photographer. And when the models canceled at the last minute, guess who had to take their place? Us. It was one of the most memorable learning experiences I have had to date, and created a strong bond between me and my coworkers.
